You may have seen athletes at a competition or in the gym with tape along their legs, arms, back, and wondered what it is. You may have even used this tape yourself when you pulled a muscle, had shin splints, or just thought you needed extra support, but have you ever thought about how it might be able to help you during pregnancy? Kinesiology tape from RockTape may be even more beneficial now than any other time in your life. When your body is being put though the wringer, you could use a little extra support. We would like to show you how to get it.
What is RockTape?
RockTape is a high grade kinesiology tape that can be used to treat sports injuries, relieve pain, and increase the speed of recovery. Kinesiology tape first came into use in the 1970s and was designed to help support the body’s healing process. There are many brands and type of kinesiology tape, but where RockTape differs is that it is thicker, stretchier, and sticker, then other kinesiology tapes.
How does it Work?
RockTape microscopically lifts the skin away from the muscle and fascia below, creating a decompressive effect. This relieves swelling through decompression which speeds recovery. It also helps increase awareness of your body position to help you maintain proper posture and form.
How can I use it during pregnancy?
RockTape has many applications. During pregnancy, some of these specific applications include belly support, lower back support, and hip pain prevention. It can also help with common issues that are often related to pregnancy, but not pregnancy specific, such as neck stress, swollen ankles, and plantar fasciitis.
