Over the next 90 days, Sledpups will publish four intermediate levels trainers. These trainers will focus on building Strength, Power, Speed, and Endurance. Each trainer is a 30 day microcycle training plan, that can be used in conjunction with one another to help build a mesocycle or even a macrocycle program. This also means that each trainer can be used time and time again, whenever your athlete is focusing their efforts in one specific area. Each trainer uses a combination of strength training, speed and endurance workouts, agility drills and/or plyometrics. Focusing on muscle groups and movements that are the most common to youth athletics, such as running, core strength, and vertical jumps.
Strength focuses on building muscular strength in both the upper and lower body muscles. It also has a significant focus on the development of the core muscles to improve the effectiveness of movement an athletes ability to perform an exercise with proper technique
Power focuses on the athletes ability to apply their strength to movement. It is the force they push off the ground with when the run and jump. How far they can throw a ball, or how fast they can get a weight in the air. It is overall capability.
Speed focuses on the athletes rate of movement and also their agility. A skill which is essential to rapidly change the direction of travel on the court or on the field.
