Samaya Clark-Gabriel is just 6 years old, and already a wiz with the ball. Just take a look at her Instagram and you will instantly see her dribbling two balls blindfolded. You will also see some of the amazing and creative training her dad set up for her. Samaya’s skills have earned her the nickname, the Brooklyn Phenomenon and already earned her attention from the New York Post, CBS Sports, and ESPN West.
Currently Samaya’s interest in sports include boxing, soccer and basketball, but she doesn’t plan to stay there. Samaya says she likes being active and wants to try a few more sports. So she can win some more trophies and medals. She also loves to read and spend time with her family.

Interview with Samaya
Erin: What is your favorite thing about basketball?
Samaya: Dribbling and learning new moves, like dribbling 2 basketballs and putting one through my legs, or dribbling with a blind fold on.
Erin: How old were you the first time you played?
Samaya: I started playing basketball when I was 6 years old. Soccer I had already been playing since I was 4. I love both sports I have a lot of fun learning new moves, making new friends and fans.
Erin: Who is your favorite coach?
Samaya: My dad will always be my favorite Coach. He teaches me a lot.
Erin: What’s the best thing about working out with your dad?
Samaya: Working out together and having fun. He always buys me an Icy and fudge round cake after practice.
Erin: What is your favorite team?
Samaya: I have a few teams I like. I’m from NY, so the NY Knicks, Brooklyn Nets & NY Liberty are my favorite teams.
Erin: Is there any famous basketball player you would like to meet?
Samaya: I would love to meet Carmelo Anthony, but some people say I have better dribbling skills then Stephen Curry, so I would like to battle him one day.
Erin: What’s your favorite thing to do, when you’re not practicing?
Samaya: I love to read books. I go to the library twice a week. I also play with my little brother. He’s so adorable and when I’m not doing that, my mommy lets me play with her hair and we do each other nails.
Erin: Do you have a favorite food?
Samaya: I love to eat rice, chicken, waffles, and cinnamon toast crunch, but I always save room for cake.
Erin: Are there any other sports you would like to try when you get older?
Samaya: I always wanted to try Gymnastics & Track so I can win more medals and trophies. My mom and dad said they’re going to put me in both pretty soon.
