Ashley Horner is dedicated to her children and living a fit life. Looking at her now, you would never realize that fitness has not always come easily to Ashley. After having her first two children, Ashley realized it was up to her alone to come back from C-sections and stretch marks, issues that many women deal with. She is a mother of three, cross-over athlete, pro fitness competitor, ultra-runner, and triathlete.
I’m Erin Crooks. I am a mom, coach, and avid outdoorsman. I knew before I had kids that I wanted to share my love for the outdoors and being physically active with my children.
I remember growing up in the country with no tv, tablets, or cell phones. We were always outdoors riding bikes, hiking, climbing, you name it. I honestly remember doing these things since the age of three and, and I guarantee my parents had me at it before then as well!
My son, Gus, is three years old. He loves to ride his strider bike (and is really good at it). We have daily races in the driveway. He has learned to count by counting mommy’s reps when I work out at home in our garage gym and writing down the numbers for me on the chalk board. I take him to my class occasionally to coach, and I can tell already what a big positive influence this has had, both on him and the people who see him at the gym. The biggest change in him that I notice is how his energy is so much more focused when we are outside riding bikes and kicking the soccer ball around.
I still pack all 50 pounds of him on hikes, and we are slowly learning to fish. 😉 There is nothing more important to me than raising a healthy, active kid. I feel so good when I see him spending more time with books and being active rather than spending that time in front of the TV. The best way for me to teach him is to lead by example, so I strive every day to honor him and myself by modeling a fit family lifestyle.
Jenna became interested in fitness during high school, but really began to learn and develop her knowledge and skills during her second pregnancy. During this time, she was in the military and determined to remain in shape in order to be eligible for a military commission program, shortly after deliver. As married mother of three, who works full time, Jenna believes being fit and healthy has been the key to balancing her family and having successful in her career.
Her main love is the weight room, but she has recently branched out into cycling, and running. She is an Army Master Fitness Trainer and a level one certified Level One Olympic Weightlifting Lifting Coach. She is also currently working on her NSCA Strength and Conditioning certification, and though she has a long list of races and events ahead, Jenna’s main goal is just to continue to help her kids train and be in their best in whatever the choose to do.
Georgia is the oldest of Jenna’s three children and competitive gymnast. As the daughter of two military parents she began doing pushups and running at a very young age. Her first 5k was in fort hood at the age of 4. Though she wasn’t able to run it all without stopping, her mother says she refused to get back in the stroller and be pushed.
Around age 7, Georgia began recreational gymnastics, and after moving to Clarksville, TN in 2011, she began to work out with a pre-team and the next year was able to compete. Then in 2014, when Georgia’s gymnastics coach opened her own Crossfit box, Georgia asked to try a class and she was hooked.
Nick has been around sports his entire life and fist began strength training at 12 years old to improve his wrestling performance. It didn't take long for him to realize the benefits of dedicating a few hours per week outside of his wrestling practices to build muscle and get stronger.
He eventually went on to become a high school All-American, national team member, and CA greco roman state champion. This led him to receiving an athletic scholarship to Liberty University where he went on to study Kinesiology. As a college athlete, he was the team captain, East Regional Conference Champion, NCAA D1 National Championship qualifier, and an NCWA All-American. Immediately after wrapping up his wrestling career, he began working part time as a personal trainer and took on a strength and conditioning internship for a NCAA-D1 football program under the mentorship of a former NFL strength coach. During his time there he was able to learn from and train with multiple world champion powerlifters.
Professionally, Nick has worked with hundreds of individuals around the world and coached a wide variety of clients ranging from special forces, active duty, first responders, law enforcement, paraplegics, mixed martial artists, powerlifters, endurance athletes, rock climbers, youth/high school/collegiate athletes and teams, general population (weight loss), and clients with special needs. He has also been a guest speaker at a college campus and various corporate health seminars.
